    Port of Sóller
    A harbor in constant evolution
    The Port de Sóller is one of the most symbolic beauties of the island of Majorca. Northwest of Sóller, the harbor has established itself as one of the main attractions of the island. It undoubtedly has the perfect combination of sea and mountain and is a clear example of the harmony between the two landscapes. When you visit the Port de Sóller, do not forget to take a ride on the wooden tourist train. The small tram has been operating since 1913 and connects the harbor with the city of Sóller.
    History and Culture
    Historically the port of Sóller has been an important reference point in the Mediterranean and has always been a strategic port due to its location. Already in early years, the port became an important place for import and export, mainly for oranges and lemons. In the past, the Sierra de Tramuntana mountains were a major obstacle for the inhabitants to contact and above all trade, to make possible with the rest of the island.
